Sue and Wenche with their families in South Africa

Update Update!

Good evening all,

Bron and I were in to see Sue this evening, followed by a nice dinner at The Senator (although Sue did not join us :-) ). Her creatinine levels are lower still today, down to 94! And she was up and about for several walks throughout the day. She chatted on the phone with her sister Judy this afternoon and Cath Fry was by for a visit.

Wenche is now at Sue's place, taking it easy. Bron and I will stop by there tomorrow on our way to Waterloo to wish her well before she makes the trek back to Ottawa on Monday with Paul and her daughter Nina, who is driving down to pick them up and take them all back by car (a better idea than flying at this point). Wenche continues to feel a little bit better each day, although she still has some nausea.

We are thankful that with this week coming to a close, we have to two very healthy and happy women in our lives, to inspire us and serve as examples of the power of friendship.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

    Dear Sue and Wenche,

All my family, my Laramie Bible study friends, and I want to congratulate you both on this phenomenal kidney transplant trial that you have persevered and conquered. You both are such great inspirations to us all!

We are so very thankful that the two of you have been given your amazing gift of friendship. Out of it, we have all witnessed you to be not only perfectly compatible mentally,
socially and emotionally, but also physically. Your surgeries went so smoothly, and both of your recuperations are such amazing manifestations of God's great plan being completed in your lives and
those of all your loved ones.

That is what LOVE does - Our God is LOVE and He gave his life up for each and every one of us. Wenche's gift of her kidney is such a perfect illustration of what His LOVE can do.

Praise God as He is a sovereign God of Love and is full of Grace. His Will, as a master healer, is always to transform our negative, scary and deadly situations into a perfect example for His Good - New Life.

I see God's perfect Will written all over your lives and those of your loved ones. He is the author and perfecter of our faith. It is so wonderful to be able to praise our incredible friendships, but we must always remind
one another to give recognition to the author and perfecter of those friendships -- the Lord Jesus Christ.

God bless you both, and we will continue in prayer for your perfect healing and recuperation. Sure look forward to your messages each day.

    Love, June

P.S. I also want to extend many thanks to Kathryn for setting up this great blog and keeping us current on Sue and Wench's progress. You are such a blessing!
